Our mission is to promote, support and undertake programmes, actions and initiatives to beautify Auckland.

MBCT HISTORY

In 2001 the Manukau City Council established The Manukau Beautification Charitable Trust and charged it with the task of dealing with the enormous amount of graffiti in the region.

Since then the Trust's proven record of efficient and effective tagging removal has resulted in an expansion of territory under Auckland Council's management, so that we are now contracted by Council to remove tagging in the city's six southern local board areas.

Over time our approach to beautifying the Manukau region has evolved to include much, much more than tagging removal.  Check out What We Do to find out about the many different ways we work to keep Manukau beautiful.

 

MBCT AWARDS

We're proud of what we do at the Trust.  Here are some of our successes to date:

  • 2014 – ‘Highly Commended’ in the New Zealand Association of Event Professionals' Event Awards, ‘Best Emerging Event 2014’ for our annual Eye On Nature event
  • 2015 – 25th Annual Green Ribbon Awards run by the Ministry for the Environment, winner of the ‘Community Leadership Award’.
  • 2015 – Regional finalist in 3 categories (‘Excellence in Strategy and Planning’, ‘Excellence in Business Leadership’, and ‘Excellence in Innovation’) of the Westpac Business Awards.
  • 2015 – Finalist in 2 categories (‘Community Impact’ and ‘Innovation’) of the 2015 Sustainable Business Awards run by the Sustainable Business Network.
  • 2016 - Finalist in 2 categories ('Community Environmental Initiative' and 'Tidy Kiwi') for our 'NZ Largest Clean-up Event' and our 'Graffiti Removal Team' of the 2016 Keep New Zealand Beautiful Awards by Keep New Zealand Beautiful (KNZB).

 

MBCT HUB

The Trust has been located at 38 Holmes Road Manurewa for the past 8 years, which has been South Auckland's one stop environmental and educational hub open to all communities.
Our offices are open to visit 5 days a week – Mon-Fri 9am-5pm by appointment.
We are closed on public holidays.
