VOLUNTEER

Auckland communities have had our back for years!

We rely on them to help pull together actions and events to beautify South Auckland.

Volunteers not only make a difference to the Trust but also to the environment and communities they serve.

We need volunteers to support our events, legacy programmes and tackling litter and graffiti.

Learn about our volunteer opportunities below:

Eye on Nature

Eye on Nature is our biggest annual programme, held in Autumn at the Auckland Botanic Gardens. In the past we’ve welcomed 10,000+ visitors to this event. We rely heavily on a large crew of volunteers to help over the school and family days. Volunteers help us run games, assist with children's crafts, support our exhibitors, direct visitors, help pack in and out of the event and orchestrate our live entertainment. It's a fun day, and all volunteers receive lunch on the day and an Eye on Nature t-shirt. The school days run over Tuesday - Thursday in one week, whilst the Family Day runs the following Saturday.

Community Events

We host and support environmental education and community events which need the support of volunteers. Some events may include planting days, clean-up events, and place-making projects such as murals. We post all of our Community Events on our Events page.

Boomer Business

Our community shed for people aged 50+ is always keen to welcome volunteers to help out. In particular we are on the lookout for experienced engineers, cabinetmakers, welders, arts and crafts tutors, computer teachers and other tradespeople to share their skills with others in our fully equipped workshop. If you have a talent and willing to share it - let us know!

Adopt A Spot

We have an ever increasing number of wonderful people who help tackle graffiti and litter as an Adopt a Spot Angle. These people watch out for tagging and rubbish in public places on a weekly basis and then report it into the Trust. Past experience shows that the sooner tagging is painted out and litter is removed the less likely it is to attract more.

BUT WAIT - THERE ARE OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP!

If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity which we haven't listed let us know, we may be able to cater to you.

We also offer opportunities for groups to volunteer for their corporate days or school trips.

You can also check out our careers page too.
